Russelia equisetiformis Red - Ornamental Flowering Plants

Russelia equisetiformis is a small evergreen shrub. It has thin green fleshy very ramified stems, which as they grow assume a prostrate posture, covered by small lanceolate, bright green leaves; when the climate is mild it is covered with a myriad of small bright orange tubular flowers, flowering begins in February and lasts until autumn, it is not uncommon for the plant to be in bloom all year round. The russelia equisetiformis prefers very bright locations, preferably in full sun or partial shade. 
The species of Russelia equisetiformis need abundant and regular watering, especially during the vegetative period, from February to October, avoid letting the soil dry out excessively; it is important to always keep it rather moist.
