Coffee is a genus of flowering plants in the family Rubiaceae. The seeds of some species, called coffee beans, are used to flavor various beverages and products.

 The fruits, like the seeds, contain a large amount of caffeine, and have a distinct sweet taste and are often juiced. The plant ranks as one of the world's most valuable and widely traded commodity crops and is an important export product of several countries

Indian coffee beans has more prominence in the world market. There are over 120 species of Coffee, which is grown from seed. Coffee trees start to flower an average of three to four years after planting,with the flowering phase lasting for approximately two to three months . The trees produce edible red or purple fruits, which are described either as epigenous berries or as indehiscent drupes. The fruit is often referred to as a "coffee cherry," and it contains two seeds, called "coffee beans."

Most commonly cultivated coffee species grow best at high elevations, but do not tolerate freezing temperatures. 

The fruit is also used in many brands of soft drink as well as pre-packaged teas.

TEMPERATURE - Between 15 to 30 Degree Celsius.

MAXIMUM HEIGHT - It can reach upto 8 to 11 feet  (if planted in ground)

FRUITING TIME - It starts fruiting after2 to 3 yrs after planting. 

Fertilizer - Organic Fertilizer once in 3 month.

INITIAL CARE FOR 10-15 DAYS JUST AFTER RECEIVING YOUR PLANT 

  1. Remove the Packaging Materials carefully.
  2. Press the soil in the pot & add additional soil(garden mix) if necessary.
  3. Maintain moisture in the pot, Do not over water it may kill your plant, so make sure that the soil should be dry between watering.
  4. Make sure that plants get enough morning direct bright light(2-3hrs) for 10-15 days & do not go for immediate transplanting (minimum 1 month)
  5. After 1 month you can transplant it into slightly bigger pot than the present pot or directly in the ground.
  6. Just prune if any branch of the plant is get damaged in transits. New leaves will come definitely.
